The Best Lawn Mower For Your Yard.

When it comes time to mow your lawn you have several options on which type of mower to use. If your lawn is relatively small in size the best option may be a push lawn mower. You could also choose a self propelled model if your lawn is medium sized or you have some steeper slopes in your yard. The prices range from just under $200 for a cheap model to almost $1000 for a luxury model. What type and how much you spend is dependent on several factors.

You should start by thinking about how long you want to keep your mower. If you want to keep it awhile and have less maintenance problems you might want to consider a more expensive type. One choice would be the Honda HRX217K2HMA. This mower is self propelled and can mulch and bag. It can also do a percentage of each at the same time.

There are also much less expensive options for a self propelled mower. A good mower company to look at is John Deere. They are better known for their lawn tractors but have some excellent choices for push mowers. Lawnboy and Craftsman are two names to consider if you want a less expensive self propelled mower.

For a push mower that is not self propelled the Craftsman 38905 is a good model that is around $200 and should give you everything you need for a smaller yard. Also if your lawn is flat and small a battery powered or cordless electric mower might be all that you need. Some advantages are their low maintenance and quiet operation. For about $250 the Black and Decker MM875 is a good choice for electric. If you want cordless Black and Decker has the CMM1200, although it is around $400. You can even find battery powered and rechargeable mowers.

The final option is the old push mower with rotary blades. Some people prefer this model for it's quietness and uniqueness. Scotts has one of these that will run you about $140.

Whatever type you may choose there are many review sites to compare models. Home Depot has a good review site to get started with. There are many different types and options that go with them, so a little homework will serve you well before making this purchase.

I have a small yard and enjoy my old fashioned push mower with the rotating blade. Nothing like hearing that swooshing cutting sound in summer. Good exercise for you also.

Lawn boy is a great brand for a self propelled lawn mower. I have owned a couple and find that they are low maintenanceand do a great job of cutting.

If you can get a lawn mower with the availability to mulch, I would recommend it. You are actually helping to fertilize your lawn by doing this. It is also organic and will give you less need for fertilizer.
