Have A Great Lawn: What Tools And Products Will Get Your Yard Looking It's Best.

When you own a home with a lawn you are now saddled with the maintenance of your yard. To some people this can be a burden. Others find a lot of enjoyment from lawn care and also find ways to enhance their yards. The lawn and landscape are an important part of your home's appearance and value, so this aspect of your home should not be taken lightly.

The size of your lawn has much to do with what type of lawn mower you get. Large hilly areas might require a riding lawn mower. If this is the case there are many types to choose from and a lot will depend on the features of your yard; lots of trees, tight spaces etc.

If you only need a push mower then there are also many options. Self propelled, attachments, mulching, bagging. The prices vary greatly also, but you can get a relatively inexpensive mower for whatever your needs. A good weed trimmer will help keep your lawns edges and borders looking nice.

If your lawn is not established you will have to choose the grass seed you want to use. This is also a good time to think about weed killers, because you can eliminate the weeds before they grow. You will almost always need fertilizer depending on your soils concentration of nutrients.

After your lawn is established there are many different ways to enhance it's appearance. You might consider a back yard patio. There are many different materials to choose from based on appearance and durability. This also might be a do it your self project if you want to save some money or enjoy this type of work. Installing a fire pit and providing shade will make your patio useful more often.

A garden is another great way to make your lawn look great. Many people find great satisfaction in designing and maintaining a garden around their home. The possibilities are endless with the types of flowers you like and the shape of your garden. Even a very small lawn will be improved with a few plants.

Finally you might be thinking about a fence to enclose your yard. Wooden fences are nice looking and there are many options available. Whether it is for privacy, appearance, or for pets there will be some style that appeals to you.

Lawn care and maintenance is a big part of owning a home. It can also be very enjoyable to see the results of a well cared for and healthy lawn.

I have a couple ares in my back yard that are heavily shaded so I planted a bunch of Hostas back there. The problem is that the deer around our property can't get enough of them, it seems to be their favorite new food. Does anyone know any way to keep them from mowing them to the ground?

I have used my own homemade fertilizer from compost for years. It is surprisingly easy to make your own, it just takes some time before it is ready. I use it in my vegetable and flower garden and my plants love it.

I have been thinking of getting a riding lawn mower because I have a huge back yard and it takes me forever with my regular mower. I hadn't reall thought about thins like trees and tight spaces making a big difference. I realize now that it is very important and I might need one with a pretty small deck to get in and out of tight spaces. Thanks.

Gardens are great for your yard. I find a lot of joy working in them too. I have had one for about 5 years and am constantly working in it and changing things around. I have a lot of fun obsessing over my plants. My spouse has begun to wonder a bit about me though.

I stained some concrete a couple of years ago and it still looks pretty good even though it is in the sun a lot every day. The only problem I had was trying to make it look a little like a tile floor. I think I needed a little more artistic ability than I have. Next time I might think about hiring somebody.

I just finished installing a cement patio that was about 10 feet by 12 feet. It seemed to be a lot of work. I am in the process of acid etching and staining it now. I am hoping for a nice natural look. I went to Home depot and they gave me some good ideas for staining it. has anyone done this before and how long does this last?
